Short version: this website is for grown-ups. It does not collect information from children, and it has no cookies, no ads, no tracking and no sign-ups. We never sell personal information.

Who we are
Heartbop Kids makes short cartoon episodes for children aged 3–7 and runs this website, heartbopkids.com. Heartbop Kids is an independent brand run by its founder, based in Saudi Arabia. In this policy, “Heartbop Kids”, “we” and “us” mean the brand and its founder, who decides how the small amount of information described here is used (the “controller” under data protection laws).
The best way to reach us about anything in this policy is email: hello@heartbopkids.com.
Children's privacy
Our cartoons are made for children, but this website is for parents, teachers and other adults. We follow children's privacy laws, including the US Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).
- We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under the age set by the law where you live).
- There are no accounts, sign-ups, comments, chat, contests, games or forms on this website.
- There are no cookies, analytics, advertising or tracking tools, and no ads of any kind on this website.
- On YouTube, our videos are marked “made for kids”. YouTube then turns off comments and personalized ads on them.
- If a child sends us an email, we will not keep it or use it for anything. We delete it promptly. If a reply is needed, we write once to a parent, not to the child.
For parents and carers: if you think your child has sent us personal information, or you want to know what we hold, email hello@heartbopkids.com with the subject “Parent request”. We will tell you what we have (usually nothing) and delete it at your request, at no cost, within 30 days. We may ask you to write from the same email address to confirm the request is yours.
Information we handle
When you browse
We do not use cookies, analytics or tracking tools. Like every website, our hosting provider automatically processes basic technical data (such as IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time) to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse. These server logs are kept for a short time by the hosting provider and are not used by us to identify or profile anyone.
When you email us
If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to write. We use it only to reply and to keep a simple record of the conversation. Please don't send us information about your child.
When you buy
- Books on Amazon: you buy from Amazon. Amazon handles your order, payment and delivery under its own privacy notice. We do not receive your name, address or payment details.
- Digital downloads: you buy through our checkout provider, Gumroad. It is the seller of record for these orders, takes your payment and handles sales tax, VAT and receipts. It collects what it needs for that (such as your name, email address, billing country and payment details) and is responsible for that information under its own privacy policy. It shares order details with us (such as your name, email address, country, what you bought and the order number) so we can deliver your files and help you. We never receive your card details.
YouTube videos
Episode videos are hosted by YouTube. Our pages do not load anything from YouTube until you press play. Videos then play from YouTube's privacy-enhanced domain (youtube-nocookie.com), and YouTube's own privacy policy applies to that video. Links to our YouTube channel take you to YouTube's website.
Fonts and other services
Our fonts are stored on our own server. This website does not load content from advertising or tracking companies.
How we use information, and why
- To reply to your messages, because you asked us to (and, under EU and UK law, our legitimate interest in answering you).
- To deliver your purchases and help with them, because that is part of providing what you bought.
- To keep the website secure, as a legitimate interest that does not override your rights.
- To meet legal duties, for example keeping basic order records or answering a lawful request.
We never sell personal information, never share it for targeted advertising, never use it to build profiles, and never make automated decisions about you. We don't send marketing emails.
Who else handles information
Only the services we need to run the website and the shop: our hosting provider, our email provider, our checkout provider, and Amazon and YouTube when you choose to use them. Each one handles information under its own terms. We may also share information if the law requires it.
Where information is handled
We are based in Saudi Arabia, and the services we use may store information in other countries, including the United States and the European Union. Where the law requires it, we rely on the safeguards those providers offer, such as standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
- Emails: deleted within 24 months of our last message, or sooner if you ask (unless we need them to deal with a legal claim).
- Order details we receive from the checkout provider: kept only as long as needed to help with your order and to meet legal duties.
- Anything sent by a child: deleted promptly.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what information we hold about you, to get a copy, to correct it, to delete it, to object to or limit how we use it, or to take it elsewhere. These rights come from laws such as the GDPR in the European Union, the UK GDPR, US state privacy laws (for example in California), and Saudi Arabia's Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL). Because we don't sell or share personal information for advertising, there is nothing to opt out of, but you are welcome to ask.
To use any of these rights, email hello@heartbopkids.com. It's free, and we will reply within 30 days. We will never treat you differently for asking. If you are not happy with our answer, you can complain to the data protection authority where you live (in Saudi Arabia, the Saudi Data & AI Authority, SDAIA). We'd be grateful for the chance to put things right first.
Keeping information safe
The website uses a secure connection (HTTPS). We keep very little information, protect the accounts we use to run the site, and limit who can see what we hold.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. If we ever wanted to collect a new kind of information, we would update this policy before doing so, and we would never start collecting information from children.
